- 01 · Capture Add a note Open Notebook and tap the compose button. Add a title, premise, or whatever you need to remember.
- 02 · Develop Shape your material Move notes from Idea to Working to Tight, then organize them with folders and tags.
- 03 · Build Make a setlist Open Sets, create a setlist, add notes to the lineup, and arrange them in order.
- 04 · Review Record a set Tap the red microphone, choose an exact set length, and record. Your transcript appears under Recorded sets.
Frequently asked questions
Is my material private?
Yes. Callback has no account, no advertising, no analytics, and no server. Your notes, setlists, recordings, and transcripts stay on your iPhone. Recording, transcription, scanning, laugh detection, and Smart Connections run on-device. Read the full Privacy Policy.
What is free, and what does Callback Pro add?
The notebook is free: notes, statuses, folders, tags, search, setlists, import and export, plus recording and on-device transcription for sets up to 10 minutes.
Callback Pro adds Smart Connections, recording beyond 10 minutes, creating notes from transcript passages, Revisit reminders, and laugh analytics. Current plans, prices, and trial terms appear in the app.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open Callback Settings, find the Callback Pro section, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure the iPhone is signed in to the same Apple Account used for the original purchase.
How do I manage or cancel a subscription?
In Callback Settings, open the Callback Pro section and tap Manage Subscription. You can also use the iOS Settings app: tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Callback.
Why did my free recording stop at 10 minutes?
Free recordings stop automatically at 10:00, but the recording is still saved and transcribed. Callback Pro removes the recording limit.
The microphone, transcription, camera, or photos are not working.
Open the iOS Settings app, choose Callback, and check the permissions for Microphone, Speech Recognition, Camera, and Photos. Only enable the permissions needed for the feature you want to use.
If transcription is still processing, keep Callback installed and reopen the recorded set after a moment. Your original audio remains saved unless you delete it.
How do I back up or move my notebook?
From the Notebook menu, choose Export Notebook and save the backup to Files or iCloud Drive. On the other iPhone, choose Restore from Backup. Callback data is also included when you restore the entire iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup.
How do I import material I already have?
Open the Notebook menu or Callback Settings. You can paste notes, import a text, Markdown, CSV, or Callback backup file, scan paper notebook pages, or import Voice Memos. Callback lets you review imported material before adding it.
Why are Smart Connections empty?
Smart Connections groups notes with overlapping themes, characters, callbacks, tags, or wording. Add several related notes and give Callback a moment to process them. Everything is calculated on your iPhone.
